Poet Amiri Baraka Stirs The Pot
This is too interesting to pass up--I don't agree with what Baraka says in the poem --that 400 Israelis stayed home that day, and as far as I know the people who made money selling airline stock before Sept. 11 were connected to Al Quaeda, not Israelis, but I'll defend Baraka's right to say it--there is no debate in this country about Sept 11--we need to have open discussion, argument--and if it takes a poet to start it off--great--a testament to the power of poetry.
